Message from the President
I welcome you to the Alliant Systems Website. . I encourage you to take a few minutes to browse the site and learn more about the company, the people, and the products and services that combine to create the Alliant Difference.
Alliant Systems is the leading provider of information technology solutions for the textile rental industry and we take great pride in continually setting the standards by which other providers are measured. I am pleased to report that our performance in 2008 raised the standard yet again. In the past 12 months Alliant Systems successfully introduced significant advances in our products, experienced continued growth in the marketplace, and enjoyed many opportunities to meet with our friends and customers. I would like to share some of the milestone events that helped make 2008 another banner year for Alliant Systems.
- Alliant Route Accounting 2.0 was introduced in the last quarter of 2007. Developed using Microsoft’s .NET development toolset, this powerful application is the core of Alliant’s products and future development. Due to an aggressive implementation schedule for 2008, the product was operating in over 20 locations by the end of the year.
- Alliant Route Accounting 1.0 featured three releases in 2008, each release packed with hundreds of hours of development and enhancements. While we continue an aggressive roll out schedule for Alliant Route Accounting 2.0 in 2009 and beyond, significant development efforts will continue across the product line.
- Alliant Route Accounting 2.0 has been enhanced to include a cart delivery module. This functionality was designed for those operators serving healthcare, gaming, or resort operations. Development on this addition began in January of 2007 and was entirely driven by operators serving healthcare and resort operations. The first installation of this enhancement took place in March of 2008, and by year’s end a number of our customer’s were utilizing this functionality.
- The industry’s commitment to mobile computing continues as Alliant Systems closes 2008 with over 850 routes utilizing the Alliant Mobile product.
- Alliant Systems realized an 8% increase in our licensed customer base in 2008. We were pleased to welcome a number of new customers and their confidence in Alliant Systems is truly appreciated.
2008 provided a number of opportunities for us to interact with our customers and friends. A couple of highlights worth noting include:
- Alliant Systems had three representatives enrolled in UTSA’s EMI program in August. The five year program offers an outstanding curriculum, excellent instructors and an unparalleled networking opportunity within our industry. 2008 marked the 10th consecutive year that Alliant Systems employees have been enrolled in this program. This year marked the graduation of yet another Alliant Systems employee as Angie Binovi, the Director of Customer Care, completed the fifth year of the program.
- In October, Alliant Systems hosted another successful Customer Conference. Over 70 representatives from 42 companies attended the meetings in Ft. Worth, TX and by all measures the event proved to be an incredible success.
