Alliant Systems and Datamars partner on RFID Assisted Sorting System

Software Increases Productivity and Reduces Labor

September 1, 2004

Irving, TX - Alliant Systems and Datamars have joined forces to develop the Datamars RFID Assisted Garment Sorting System (DSS). By automatically reading an RF chip placed in a garment, the DSS software audibly and visually instructs operators on the placement of individual garments during the sort process of garment production.

“The Datamars system is designed to increase sorting speed, reduce labor and improve sort accuracy,” said Eric Smith, Vice President of Alliant Systems. “Combined with our garment tracking software, DSS can be a powerful tool for textile rental operators.”

The DSS system will be released in September and will be branded, marketed and sold as a Datamars product. For more information, please contact Nick Mandrycky at 205-942-9220.
